Curiosity killed the cat, but what about the kid? [May. 23rd, 2005|05:38 pm]

A minute back, this kid was trying to grab his parents attention pointing out two photographers clicking away simultaneously at a baby monkey with its mother. This was a little later.

The K. Gudi (Kyathadevara Gudi) Wilderness Camp is like a star hotel in the jungle. The tents are huge(atleast 15 people can sleep in one if it were a trek) with 2 cots(with 3 layers of sheets), side tables and a big attached bathroom(towels provided!).The cane chairs in front of the tent are at the most comfortable angle to put up your legs, lean back and relax. While it was pouring in Bangalore, it was cool at the camp. More details in bchandan's entry.

My 50mm F1.8 lens is also turning out to be very versatile for trips. The large aperture helps a lot in low light, and reversing the lens gives me macro; all pics you see below except the butterflies were taken using this lens.

To get the same profit, they could make it lower and increase the number of tents they have to accomodate more people, but then wouldn't it become a big picnic spot?
When you had been to Bandipur, did you go on your own?

The reason I believe JLR does'nt do that is it's probably difficult to manage a lot of people in remote locations. And also JLR wants to really potray it's brand as an international resort and this is the minimum required standards for that I guess. Kallu could probably elaborate on that.

But maybe they could start a subsidary which caters to trekking and nature enthuiasts who dont mind losing their city lives for a couple of days.

I go there every month for a couple of days and am in absolute love with that place. I do drive up there alone at times, but mostly with friends.

Very artistic snaps ...
Some seem tweaked - the flower shot is solid !

'Curiosity' was converted to B&W, 2 insects and 1 flower shot were cropped; what do you mean by tweaked?
