Welcome to the family

Welcome to the family: welcoming the bride to the family, by dancing and blocking her, testing her stamina, and this went on for more than an hour; Coorg Wedding in Bangalore.

From slicing banana stems to show the prowess of the groom's family and sitting on stage getting blessings(and cash only gifts) from everybody, to a test of stamina for the bride carrying water pots while people from the groom's side(and in this case friends of the bride too and the groom himself) block her, not to mention the free flow of alcohol and dance; several unique things in a Coorg wedding; a few glimpses follow.

:(

Have a roll of Ilfod Pan 125 on my Canon EOS 300 but havent shoot even 1/3rd of it. One more lying in fridge :(
This one is tempting me too much. But i want to take my attention off nature to make full use of it :)
Probably have to join you for some of your shoots on weekends but should carry only my film camera.

Re: :(

You could carry both, and compare shots and effects afterwards..and post them both on your website and let us see for ourselves, too....

Hm..call me hidebound, but I wish you had shot in colour! An Indian wedding has so much of it. I agree that black-and-white brings a lot of what you want to say into sharp focus...but..just this once....I wish you had colour!

For your info, the bride is in red and the groom in red and white :) In this wedding there were three more photographers shooting with digital color SLRs and the bride wanted some BW photos.
