Saturday morning at the Russel Market [Mar. 25th, 2006|01:28 pm]

It was the earliest I have woken up on Saturday morning, in recent times; zeeshanmn called for a meet and so I was there in front of the Russel Market at 7:30am. The street itself is full of activity with people moving around all their goods, you could while away time just watching the activity here, fascinating. After a few minutes of not seeing anyone who looked like a photographer, went and stood opposite the church. Saw two camera bags(the easily recognizable rectangular ones) being carried by two people across the street. Went back to the entrance of Russel market and saw the same two people, Zeeshan had mentioned that two people were joining him, so went over and found that they were Anita and Sabir. Zeeshan joined us later with cyberscorpion while we went around the market, flowers in the front, then vegetables, the mutton market and finally the fish market(felt hungry) in the back, with poultry shops around. This was the first time I was meeting online people(!), offline, and it was nice doing so, for one I can now put a face in my mind instead of just a handle.
Later we moved across the street to the spare parts market. Only a few of them had started setting shop, most opening at 10am. After Sabir and Anita left, the rest of us went for another walk around the market, Zeeshan pointing out what happens where. We later went to the Coffee House on MG Road and had dosa and coffee for breakfast.
